Little did Steve know at this time that his music, as well as those great musicians of the 70s, would have a resurgence starting around 2010...he's more popular and well know now than at that time and for good reason. Lots of players back in those days...but the ones who really stand out among them are getting their due. A few of Hackett's albums, and certainly his playing in Genesis, will be discovered with wonderment by kids a hundred years from now. That's having a real impact. His playing is magnificent.

This is awesome but Annie Haslam should have been on vocals.

Probably the worst Rick Wakeman gig that I ever attended; in fact, I left halfway through. I saw him live many times before this show ('King Arthur' on ice at Wembley in 1975 was my first RW gig) and many times since, but this show was dreadful. Thanks for the upload, though - if only to reassure me that my memory wasn't playing tricks! As an aside, and in fairness, I believe that Rick had been going through some tough times during the early 80s; those early(ish) Korg instruments didn't really help, either - but, like Rick, Korg turned the corner and all was, eventually, good!

So great to see this in full. The original TV broadcast ended with Catherine Parr. I still have my VHS tape, recorded 'off air'. Obvious that the director and vision mixer 'clocked off' at 39 mins, though! So grateful for the upload. I saw Rick, together with this lineup of the ERE on their 1976 tour at Hammersmith Odeon; one of his better shows.

The A.I. closed captioning refers to this as the "Frog Ears" enjoy.

In the context of that era, "Straight" meant someone who didn't consume illegal drugs, and Rick didn't.......to avoid embarrasment to two uncles who were ministers. so Rick became an alcoholic instead.

The singer ruined the whole album with her squeaking. I expected more solo from Rick Wakeman as in the Retro and Retro Album 2. Where is the main singer of the group?

I saw this tour and I think that was when I started falling out of love with Rick. He has not made a good album since unfortunately. When he continually moans about unk killing PROG WHICH IT DID NOT, This would be a great reason to do so. Loved at the time now risible I could easily order in a curry to help the boredom factor.

It's amazing how few people know about Wakeman's solo work which is far better than his work with Yes!

I listen to many kinds of music. Prog is some of the most melodic music I've ever heard, particularly Yes. Anderson and Co were absolute masters of melody.
